Benefits of Massage

Psychological effects

Promotes a general feeling of “well-being”. Helps with relaxation, tension and stress and induce sleep. Can be stimulating, rejuvenating the feeling of vitality.

Circulatory & lymphatic systems

Oxygen and nutrients are increased to the area. Lymphatic system is stimulated, so improved removal of waste products and toxins.

Muscles

Increases blood supply to area and maintains muscle “tone” as well as the removal of waste products within the muscle tissue, ie lactic acid. Elasticity and suppleness is improved, warmth within the muscles is increased, so promoting relaxation and lowering the risk of injury on exercising.

Skin

Increases blood circulation, so bringing oxygen and nutrients to surface. Improves skin tone and “texture”, produces “Erythema”, increases production of sebum onto skins surface, making it more supple. It also stimulates sweat glands, therefore improving removal of waste products
